Elder Peterson Wednesday, 3/20/13

Dear Everyone in Arizona and other parts of the U.S. (especially my family),

How is it going? This week has been absolutely crazy! I don't know how to put it in words but I am going to try. To start off, this past Saturday we met with our investigator Nichole. She has been doing a wonderful job and has been really open to meet with us. But she has a lot of problems with organization and the law of chastity. We were able to meet with her at the library and talk to her about the plan of salvation and how it is important to follow the commandments. We were able to commit her to baptism and she is going to be baptized on the 7th of April. IT IS SO EXCITING!!! She is totally ready to accept the gospel and change her life.
Also, we were able to visit Andre our new investigator. Well, he really isn't that new but we haven't been able to sit down with him for a while. We started teaching him about the restoration and at the end of the lesson, Elder Gremillion invited him to be baptized and he said yes! He is going to be baptized on April 14th. We have a lot of teaching to do with him.
That same day we had our district meeting and it was very powerful because it was transfer week and we are able to share our testimonies during the district transfer meetings. The spirit was very strong. Our district leader Elder Pon is from Hong Kong and this was his last transfer. He was an awesome missionary and an awesome leader. I am going to miss that guy.
Alright, to share one sad story. We haven't been able to get a hold of Colleen our very solid investigator. She wouldn't return our phone calls and messages. It was really disappointing. On Monday we called her on our roommate's cell phone and she answered. She told us that the reason why she wasn't returning our calls was because she wasn't interested anymore and she said to stop calling her and hung up. My universe was basically shattered. We are very sad that she has made this decision but we are going to move on.
ON the plus side of that note, we were able to find 5 new potential investigators yesterday out on the street. It was a wonderful blessing.
So this week was transfer week. Elder Gremillion was sure that he was going to be leaving because he was on his 4th transfer in this area. But, guess what?? He is staying put with me yay!! But my roommate Elder Johnson's trainer Elder Centeno left. His new companion is Elder McDonald who is a nice guy. I have only known him for about 2 hours now but he seems pretty sweet.
Alright, I have a big confession to make. This last p-day, I gave into peer pressure and bought the game Settlers of Catan. Don't worry I had extra money for it. I am hoping that I will have time to play it someday cause we are allowed to play games on P-Days. I am excited for that. Anyways this past week was awesome. We had some great food from members and had great support again from Bro. Armstrong.
Oh and lastly, I had the opportunity to give a member a blessing at the hospital. The spirit was amazing. She really appreciated it and it was a great testimony building experience. Alright I love you all!!
Miss you a bunch and can't wait to email next week!
